Eastern Scotland Golf Courses, Golf Clubs & Golfing Links
· Carnoustie Golf Links
Carnoustie is probably the hardest Open Championship course in Scotland, with a finish that may be the toughest in the world.
· Gleneagles
Set in the grounds of the internationally famous Gleneagles Hotel the resort offers three magnificent courses - the King's, Queen's, and PGA Centenary Courses - with the latter Nicklaus creation taking its place alongside the earlier James Braid masterpieces.
· Gullane Golf Club
Rolling and scenic links spreading westwards from the town provide the setting for a complex of three courses. Gullane allows offers exceptional golf.
· Kingsbarns Golf Links
A superb new links course just 6 miles from St Andrews. Opened in July 2000 the course has already been added to many golfers' 'Must Play' lists. The Kingsbarns Golfing Society has origins dating back to 1793.
· North Berwick Golf Club
A charming, traditional links course, with the 18th greeen almost in the middle of the town. North Berwick was founded in 1832, making it one of Scotland's oldest courses.
· St Andrews Old Course
In his book The Spirt of St Andrews, Alister Mackenzie, writing after he had designed Royal Melbourne and Cypress Point, described the Old Course as the yardstick by which all other courses should be judged.
· St Andrews New Course & Jubilee Course
The St. Andrews New Course was designed by Tom Morris in 1895 and the Jubilee followed shortly thereafter to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897.


Northern Scotland Golf Courses, Golf Clubs & Golfing Links
· Brora Golf Club
The Brora golf course is an enduring example of a traditional Scottish golfing, nine holes out from the clubhouse and nine holes more or less straight back in.
· Cruden Bay Golf Club
Cruden Bay Golf Course is approximately 20 miles north of Aberdeen this is one of the gems of Scottish golf. Many fairways wind along valleys between high dunes and it has to be one of the very few courses with consecutive par 3 holes.
· Golspie Golf Club
A rare combination of links, heathland and parkland with a number of very fine holes, Golspie is a seaside holiday course close to Dunrobin Castle, the historic home of the Earls of Sutherland.
· Moray Old Golf Club
A venue of the Scottish Amateur Championship, Moray (also known as Lossiemouth) celebrated its centenary in 1989 and is a fine links course, with a distinctive finishing hole which climbs back towards the town.
· Murcar Golf Club
An often underrated course, overshadowed by its more famous neighbor Royal Aberdeeen, Murcar is an excellent test of links golf and consistently appears in the list of Britain's top 100 courses.
· Nairn Dunbar Golf Club
Nairn Golf Course is a classic links course on the shores of the Moray Firth with tight fairways and magnifient greens. A regular host to amateur events and a former venue of the Walker Cup, Nairn benefits from a dry, mild climate and is always in excellent condition.
· Royal Aberdeen Golf Club
Arguably the best course in the north east Royal Aberdeen is a Robert Simpson design with alterations by James Braid.
· Royal Dornoch Golf Club
The most northerly championship course in the world, Royal Dornoch is as fine a natural test as you will ever play. Consistently and justly ranked in the World's Top Twenty.

Western Scotland Golf Courses, Golf Clubs & Golfing Links
· Machrie Golf Links
Machrie Hotel & Golf Links is situated on the Isle of Islay, off the west coast of Scotland and 30 minutes flying time from Glasgow. A traditionalist's delight with acres of wonderful duneland, windswept, sandy beaches and Atlantic Ocean views.
· Machrihanish Golf Club
The opening hole of Machrihanish is world-famous, requiring a drive across the beach or, if the tide is in, over the breaking waves coming in from the Atlantic Ocean.
· Prestwick Golf Club
As the venue for the very first Open Championship in 1860, over what was then a 12 hole course, Prestwick provides traditional links golf in an historic setting.
· Royal Troon Golf Club
Royal Troon can surely claim to sort the best from the rest. The 8th hole (Postage Stamp), a fiendish par 3 and one of the most famous holes in world golf, is a feature of the front nine but the homeward nine holes create the greatest challenge.
· Turnberry Ailsa
A magnificent Open Championship venue, the Ailsa was the scene of the epic head-to-head between Watson and Nicklaus in 1977. The views from the 9th tee onwards of the coastline and adjacent lighthouse are some of golf's most instantly recognisable images.
· Western Gailes Golf Club
This excellent links features some daunting rough and greens that are consistently fast and true, together with a line of dunes stretching from the 5th to the 13th holes and out-of-bounds to the right from the 14th onwards.
