2004 In 2004 the Amateur Championship returns to the Old Course after a gap of 23 years, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews will be holding its 250th anniversary celebrations and other annual events taking place. Demand for tee-times will be considerable and we therefore recommend early applications for reserved tee-times even more than normal. Direct applications from golfers for reserved Old Course tee-times in April, May, July, August and October 2004 will only be accepted by St Andrews Links Trust - which runs all the local courses - until the end of June 2003. A limited number of reserved tee-times will be available in June and September via some tour operators and local hotels but not to golfers applying directly. On days that the course is open for play some tee-times will be available, however, through the traditional ballot (lottery). Dates to avoid:
