  NEWS UPDATE

After three years of uncertainty in which 9/11 and the war with Saddam clouded the outlook for international travel, you can sense a desire building to return to normal. People want their lives back, and, for those accustomed to annual visits to Britain and Ireland, that means putting travel plans together early for 2004.

Travel ArrangementsMapping out next year's trip is always a positive and enjoyable experience. Will it be Scotland or Ireland, the hidden gems or the championship favorites? Or should it be England which has perhaps the most diverse scenery and certainly the prettiest towns and villages? Wales, too, has much to offer with some fabulous courses at modest rates and scenery to rival its neighbors.

Airfares have become very competitive and low inflation has curbed prices at hotels and golf clubs. The clubs, too, are getting better organised all the time - especially in terms of advance planning. A few years ago, most clubs did not have their fixture lists finalised until late spring. Nowadays, many will take bookings up to a year in advance of play. Get together with your friends and ensure that in 2004 you make up for lost time by contacting us soon for next year's trip.

Milestone event - the 10th Links Cup tournament takes place at Turnberry in early September, 2003. Our congratulations to all Links Cuppers, past and present, and in particular to event organisers Larry and Eleanor Bell.
